ABC World Wide Network

The ABC World Wide Network has its roots in the former research area 'Adaptive Behavior and Cognition' (ABC) at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. Under the direction of Gerd Gigerenzer, this area was dedicated from 1997 to 2017 to the intensive study of decision-making and risk behavior in uncertain worlds.

After Gigerenzer's retirement in 2017, the Harding Center for Risk Literacy emerged from this research area. In parallel, the ABC World Wide Network was established, a platform that unites the former scientists of the ABC research area and the Harding Center.

Today, the members of the ABC World Wide Network are active internationally in various academic and non-academic contexts. They bring their expertise in decision-making, risk communication, and human rationality to diverse sectors. This network serves as a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences and as a catalyst for new research collaborations. It exemplifies the ongoing significance and global influence of the former ABC research area.
